How Do You Realize You Are Now A Man?

If you are reading this and are a fan of student offers in restaurants then you must be above the age of 20. So, legally you are now an adult. But are you? Being in a country with a cosmopolitan culture and the constant pressure of western civilizations on our living standards (not that we are complaining), it is often difficult to truly grasp the ceremonious moment when we go over the cusp of childhood and cross the unseen line to be deemed as an adult. When do we know that we have emerged from the shackles of boyhood to be a man?

We have a culture that in the modern times is not just varied but also subtle. The real man it seems is proactive about sharing pro-feminism quotes and secularist posts on social media, but what about when he spews out the most colorful curse words when an auto rickshaw takes a sudden wrong turn in front of him or a car tries to overtake him from the right?! Where is his pro-feminism when the only insults he uses to shame other wrong-doers both male and female are insults to women, objectification to women’s physique and remarks on a woman’s character related to the wrong-doer?!

In today’s time being a man is a confusing existence, at one end there is the bombardment of heroism, bravery and character of what Ram or Braveheart! But at the other end we now love to watch bone-ticklingly funny shows of pathetic men like Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin. So, how can a man act like? What should he do?

What are the true characters of a man?

  • A real man does not talk bad about a girl or call her names just because she rejected him. He knows that everybody is worth their own opinion and freedom of choice and gender has nothing to do with that.
  • A man is also a go to handyman for household fixtures. We do not intend to be sexist by saying that only men must know how to fix things around the house. But things like leaky faucets, to creaking fans to busted light bulbs and calling a repairman to fix such puny problems every time can be a major headache especially in these modern times. Thus, it is important to know how to fix a few basic things.
  • A man is what a man eats! While taste is an important factor and humans more than any other animals are the most adventurous when it comes to tasting food, but a true man knows the importance of health and fitness. A little caution about what you put in your mouth and realizing that getting a little exercise every day is god for you are what shape manhood from adulthood.
  • Men must master money matters. It is a fact that money is not everything in life and there are several other things that are priceless so to speak. But money also means proper living standards, proper food and proper education and upbringing for your future generation. Hence, men mustn’t misinterpret money matters. Self discipline and a few enjoyments once is awhile is the right combination to enjoy a balanced and financially healthy life.
  • Men can enjoy on their own, with their own company. With time we come to realize that we are ultimately left alone in life at times, be it after graduating and moving to a new town for work, be it moving out from your parent’s house or after your kids grow up and move on. So, a man must muster enjoying his own company. Do not dwell in the past live in the present and do not let the future worry you all the time.
These are a few hallmarks of a real man. Tell us when you realized you have turned into a man from a boy. And know that you can still be a man and save money while being a student in college with student discounts online.
